옛날 옛적에 아름다운 풀밭에 토끼와 거북이가 살고 있었어요. 토끼는 빠르고 자랑스러워하는 반면 거북이는 느리고 꾸준했어요.

토끼는 거북이에게 자신의 속도를 자랑했고 거북이는 "천천히 꾸준히 하면 경주에서 이길수 있어."라고 대답했어요.

One day, the hare challenged the tortoise to a race. The tortoise accepted, and the race was set for the following day.

어느 날, 토끼는 거북이에게 경주를 하자고 했어요. 거북이는 수락했고, 경주는 다음날로 예정되었어요.

On the day of the race, the hare raced ahead, thinking he had plenty of time to take a nap. The tortoise continued on his steady pace.

경주 당일, 토끼는 낮잠을 잘 시간이 충분하다고 생각하며 앞서 달렸어요. 거북이는 그의 꾸준하게 계속 걸어갔어요.

The hare woke up and raced to the finish line, but to his surprise, the tortoise had already won the race.

토끼는 일어나서 결승선까지 달려갔지만 놀랍게도 거북이는 이미 경주에서 이겼어요.

The hare was shocked and embarrassed, and he realized that he had been too proud and lazy. The tortoise had won by being patient and persistent.

토끼는 충격을 받고 깜짝 놀랐고, 그는 자신이 너무 자랑스럽고 게으르다는 것을 깨달았어요. 거북이는 인내심과 끈기로 승리를 했지요.
